On 8 December, former National Assembly deputy and former Governor of Syunik Province Vahe Hakobyan and his wife, Elizabet Petrosyan, filed a lawsuit with the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction against the limited liability company Editorial Office of the Zhoghovurd Newspaper. They demand a retraction of information they consider defamatory and compensation of 1 million drams (more than $2,500) to each of the claimants. The grounds for the lawsuit were an article published on 6 November on the news website Armlur.am, owned by the said company. According to the article, one of the shareholders of Hakari LLC, which operates a hydroelectric power plant in Syunik Province, is Elizabet Petrosyan, the wife of Vahe Hakobyan, who is a member of the Board of Directors of the Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine. The claim is currently under consideration.
