During a plenary meeting of the Dnipro City Council, two female journalists were denied access to both the session hall and the press balcony, despite having valid accreditation. Meanwhile, other media representatives were already working on the press balcony. Maryia Onishchenko was allowed to enter only after the police were called. Her colleague, Anastasiya Taran, was still refused access and was forced to work from the public balcony instead. The public balcony is unsuitable for journalistic work because the glass installed there distorts sound, making it impossible to properly record the deputies’ speeches or gather comments.
