On 4 April, the Shirak Regional Court of General Jurisdiction involved LLC Daily Newspaper Aravot as a third party in the case filed by Sarik Minasyan, a member of the Civil Contract faction of the Council of Elders of Gyumri, against Artyom Ghukasyan, head of the Gyumri Territorial Council of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA). The claim, lodged on 20 March, was prompted by statements made by the defendant on 7 and 8 March on the website Aravot.am, owned by the aforementioned LLC, alleging that Sarik Minasyan had once been a member of the RPA and was expelled from the party. The plaintiff is seeking to have the information, which he considers defamatory, refuted and the text of the rebuttal published both in the said media outlet and across all social media platforms. The case is currently under consideration.
