The Belarusian KGB has designated the streaming platform Belarus Tomorrow as an “extremist formation.” The platform’s social media accounts and logo have also been classified as “extremist.” Media managers Aleksei Dzikowski, Pavel Sverdlov, Dzmitry Novikau, and Pavel Marynich are named as individuals involved in the activities of the organisation. Belarus Tomorrow is the first independent Belarusian streaming platform, bringing together leading Belarusian media outlets, bloggers, and experts. Broadcasting is carried out via the satellite television and radio package “Svaboda”, created within the framework of the Reporters Without Borders project. According to Belarusian law, any interaction with resources designated as extremist formations may lead to criminal prosecution and imprisonment for up to ten years for participation in or assistance to an extremist formation (Articles 361-1 and 361-4 of the Criminal Code).
