On 11 August it became known that on 23 June 2025, the Kyiv District Court of Simferopol had considered in absentia a motion to impose a preventive measure in the form of detention against Crimea.Realities journalist Aleksina Dorogan, who is accused of participating in an armed conflict or hostilities for purposes contrary to the interests of the Russian Federation (Article 208 of the Criminal Code). The journalist herself learned of the prosecution only after an appellate ruling on a complaint filed by a court-appointed lawyer was delivered to her former address. On 12 August, a Russian court ruled in absentia to arrest journalist Aleksina Dorogan for two months.
