The Leninsky District Court of Yekaterinburg has modified the pretrial measures against Yevgeny Anisimov, the founder of the YouTube channel Prekrasnaya Rossiya, who is charged with defamation, invasion of privacy, and incitement of hatred and enmity online. Anisimov has been released from pretrial detention and placed under house arrest with certain activity restrictions. The charges stem from videos in which, according to law enforcement, he allegedly insulted “law enforcement officers and natives of Central Asia.” Anisimov was arrested in February of this year. The Prekrasnaya Rossiya channel currently has nearly 200,000 subscribers.
