The Russian Ministry of Justice has added the satirical YouTube channel Obmanutyy Rossiyanin (“The Deceived Russian”) to its registry of “foreign agents,” listing Vitaly Shevtsov as its creator. According to the ministry, the channel spread content “containing calls to participate in protest actions” and shared materials from other “foreign agents.” “The Deceived Russian” is an opposition YouTube channel with over 1.8 million subscribers. Its creators criticise Russian domestic and foreign policy and cover the consequences of the war in Ukraine.
