On 17 September, Minister of Labour and Social Affairs Arsen Torosyan filed a lawsuit with the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction against LLC “Zhoghovurd Newspaper Editorial Office”, seeking a retraction of information deemed defamatory and compensation of 2 million drams (over $5,000). The lawsuit was prompted by an article published on 10 September on the information website “Armlur.am”, owned by the aforementioned company, which alleged that while serving as Minister of Health, Arsen Torosyan had misappropriated funds allocated for combating Covid-19 and now continues to hold a high-ranking position. The case is currently under consideration.
