On August 8, Boris Tamoyan, editor of the news site Politik.am, filed a lawsuit in the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction against the founder of the news site Blognews.am, the company Datablog LLC. He is demanding an apology for insults, a retraction of information deemed defamatory, and compensation of 1 million drams (over $2,500). The lawsuit was prompted by repeated publications on the site alleging that Tamoyan was attempting to falsify information about Armenia’s third president, Serzh Sargsyan, and his political team in order to disguise his own pro-government stance. The case is currently under review.
