In Altai Krai, art expert Yuri Pozdeev retracted his own assessment during the trial of Rubtsovsk blogger and government critic Olesya Dikareva, who faces charges of “illegal circulation of pornography” (Art. 242 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) for sharing a video showing police detaining a man masturbating in public. Testifying on July 14, Pozdeev said he had viewed the clip without context and argued that Dikareva should not face prosecution. The criminal case, opened in May 2024 more than a year after the post was published, is described by Dikareva as retaliation for her criticism of local authorities. Dikareva remains under a travel ban.
