The Russian Ministry of Justice has added historian and essayist Vasily Zharkov to its register of “foreign agents.” According to the ministry, he spoke out against the war with Ukraine and “participated as a respondent on information platforms provided by foreign agents and foreign media.” Zharkov teaches at the European Humanities University in Vilnius. He previously collaborated with the Free Russia Foundation.
