The FSB Directorate for the Kursk Region has opened a criminal case against SOTA journalists Pyotr Ivanov and Ruslan Terekhov for illegal border crossing (Part 3, Article 322 of the Criminal Code). The case stems from the journalists’ August 2024 trip to Sudzha in the Kursk region, which at the time was under Ukrainian military control. Another SOTA journalist, whose name has not been disclosed, also traveled to Sudzha. In total, Russia has opened criminal cases against at least 15 foreign journalists for reporting from the Kursk region.
