The FSB Directorate for the Kursk Region has opened a criminal case under Part 3 of Article 322 of the Criminal Code against SOTA journalists Pyotr Ivanov and Ruslan Terekhov for illegal border crossing. Ivanov’s parents have been summoned for questioning. The case relates to the journalists’ August 2024 trip to Sudzha in the Kursk region, which was then under Ukrainian military control. Another SOTA journalist, whose identity has not been disclosed, also took part in the trip. In total, Russia has launched criminal proceedings against at least 15 foreign journalists for reporting from the Kursk region.
