Journalist Igor Kuznetsov, sentenced to six years in prison, was placed in a punishment cell at IK-3 in Tomsk. The disciplinary action was taken because Kuznetsov addressed those around him informally. Previously, he had been sent to the punishment cell for being late to dinner and for refusing to remove his hat in the presence of an officer. In April 2024, Kuznetsov was sentenced in connection with the Telegram channel “What to Do!”. He has been in custody since September 2021. During his detention, he developed diabetes and his high blood pressure has worsened.
