On July 1, the head of the Arzni community in Armenia’s Kotayk Province, Felix Mirzoyev, filed a lawsuit with the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction against Armenia TV CJSC and television host Vahe Ghazaryan. Journalist Gagik Shamshyan was also named as a third party to the case. The plaintiff is demanding a retraction of information deemed defamatory, a public apology for the insult, and financial compensation in the amount of 9 million drams (over $23,000). The lawsuit was prompted by statements made on June 15 during the Sharp Angle program aired by the mentioned TV company, which alleged that the community leader had been involved in a bloody brawl. The case is currently under review.
