Irkutsk journalist Pavel Stepanov said that after criticising Irkutsk City Duma deputies over the Pioneer Stadium land case, he started to receive threats. According to the journalist, representatives of law enforcement agencies have been visiting him, and he has received threats, hints of smear campaigns, and tax audits. Stepanov insists that the pressure is related to his exposure of corruption schemes in which Irkutsk City Duma Speaker Yevgeny Stekachev and his deputy Alexander Druzenko may be involved.
