On June 22, in the courtyard of the Etchmiadzin Cathedral, Euromedia 24 correspondent Syuzi Badoyan approached diaspora businessman Gabriel Jemberjyan for a comment and asked about his motives for participating in a charity dinner organised by the "My Step" Foundation, led by the wife of Armenia’s Prime Minister, Anna Hakobyan, and for donating 1 million drams (over $2,500). The journalist also hinted that by cultivating close ties with the authorities, the businessman might be trying to avoid responsibility in certain criminal cases he is involved in. In response, Gabriel Jemberjyan started shouting at Syuzi Badoyan, called her an “idiot,” and threatened her with punishment.
