Additional information:

On June 13, security officers at the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia forcibly removed Vahe Makaryan, a correspondent for the news website "Mediahub.am," from the building. Makaryan was present on a one-time entry pass provided by opposition MP Gegham Manukyan, a member of the parliamentary Standing Committee on Defense and Security, to cover a session of the committee. However, the journalist was prohibited from carrying out his work and was ordered to leave the premises because he was not accredited by the parliament. In response, eight journalistic organizations issued a joint statement condemning the obstruction of a media representative’s professional activity. They emphasized that the incident is a continuation of a previous conflict between Vahe Makaryan and National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan, which had resulted in the journalist being stripped of his parliamentary accreditation on highly questionable grounds.
