On May 16, the head of the Gyulagarak community in Armenia’s Lori Province, Khachik Vardanyan, filed a lawsuit with the Lori Regional Court of General Jurisdiction against Oragir Media LLC. He is demanding a retraction of information that he claims defames his honour, dignity, and business reputation, as well as compensation of 2 million drams (over $5,000) for defamation. The lawsuit was prompted by an article published on April 16 on the website "Oragir.news," owned by the aforementioned LLC. The article alleged that Vardanyan was engaged in misappropriating community lands by altering their cadastral status and registering them under the names of his relatives. The case is currently under review.
