The Butyrsky District Court in Moscow sentenced blogger Boris Stomakhin in absentia to 10 years in a strict-regime colony. He was convicted on two charges: spreading knowingly false information about the Russian Armed Forces driven by political hatred (clause “d,” part 2, Article 207.3 of the Russian Criminal Code) and inciting hatred with a threat of violence (clause “a,” part 2, Article 282). Stomakhin has faced lengthy prison sentences for his writings since 2006. Following his release in 2019, he left Russia.
