The Oktyabrsky District Court of Arkhangelsk has fined former SOTA journalist Darya Poryadina 5,000 rubles (€54.29) for participating in the activities of an “undesirable organisation” (Article 20.33 of the Code of Administrative Offences). SOTA was designated as an “undesirable organisation” by the Prosecutor General’s Office in May 2024. Poryadina left Russia following the outbreak of the invasion of Ukraine. In 2023, she was also fined under a protocol for failing to comply with regulations concerning “foreign agents."
