On March 26, accredited journalists in the National Assembly attempted to stage a protest from the press gallery by holding up a poster featuring a member of the ruling Civil Contract faction, Andranik Kocharyan, along with a demand for him to apologize to journalist Hripsime Jebejyan. This action was essentially a continuation of an incident that took place about a week earlier in parliament when the deputy exhibited offensive and discriminatory behaviour towards Hripsime Jebejyan, the head of the news service of Tribune.am. The protest was interrupted by security personnel, who used force. As a result of the confrontation, Hripsime Jebejyan sustained a leg injury.
