On February 17, Nino Shubitidze, a journalist with Studio Monitori, was fined GEL 5,000 (USD 1,800) for "violating traffic rules." After presenting her press badge and proof of her journalistic work, her case was suspended. The Georgian Dream government introduced stricter regulations for protests, under which "blocking a road" is now punishable by a GEL 5,000 (USD 1,800) fine.
