On January 22, while covering a protest on Rustaveli, police fined Eka Kevanishvili, a journalist with RLE/RF, GEL 5,000 for "artificially blocking the road" (Article 174 of the Code of Administrative Offences). Authorities have been issuing fines to journalists for this violation, and their appeals are frequently delayed or prolonged. Kevanishvili also appealed the decision.
