On February 1, a fiber optic cable belonging to TV Pirveli was damaged. The channel issued a statement saying it had to halt its broadcast and switch to emergency measures to restore it. "We do not have access to mobile stations that provide live broadcast signals from the accident site. We are working to restore them as quickly as possible, but this is beyond our control," wrote Nodar Meladze, head of TV Pirveli's channel.
