Russian President Vladimir Putin conducted an official visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan on the 27th of November. Kazakhstani journalists who were expecting the arrival of the President by 1500 were working in the Press Centre which is in a separate building to the presidential palace. The start of the visit was delayed; the President only arrived in Astana around the evening. Ulysmedia.kz reported: 'In the end, the Kazakhstani journalists who had been waiting since 1300 were only shown 1.5 minutes of the meeting close up, and 5 minutes in an extended format. The negotiations between the two heads of state started after 1800. Only Russian media was granted firsthand access to the "holy of holies" - the Presidential Palace, where the meeting took place. They were provided access to the speakers - representatives of the Cabinets of both countries, the presidents' press-secrataries, and so on.'
