18th November - The Mayor of Yerevan brought a lawsuit against 'Editorial Board of the Zhogovurd Newspaper LLC' in the Yerevan Court of General Jurdistiction, demanding a public apology, refutation of claims that the plaintiff considers slanderous, and the payment of compensation. This comes as a result of an 11th of December article on the news site Armlur.am (owned by the LLC), and in the newspaper 'Zhogovurud', according to which members of governing party 'Civil Contract' reminded Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan about articles in the press concerning Avinyan, adding that the latter consistently appoints civil servants who take bribes to high-ranking positions, and remarking that 'if he isn't corrupt, then why does he act like this?' According to the article, the mayor then made threats against those who expressed such an opinion about him.
