It became known that the journalist Ihar Ilyash, detained on October 22, 2024, was transferred to the detention centre № 1 from the temporary detention centre. It follows from this, he has been formally charged with a criminal offence. Details of the prosecution of the journalist are still unknown. On October 22, the pro-government Telegram channel Kniga GU BAZA published a video, in which Ilyash said that he cooperates with the independent TV company Belsat, banned in Belarus and based in Poland, and gives interviews to the media, which are declared «extremist» in Belarus. «I was detained because of this», — Ilyash said.
