The Legal Media Centre reported that their Instagram account lmc.kz was hit by a barrage of negative comments under the publication of October 29 — about an open letter in support of convicted journalist Daniyar Adilbekov. The Media Centre believes that these comments are the result of coordinated activity of bots. «The comments were posted simultaneously one after another, which indicates the automated nature of their placement. The accounts from which the posts were written are inactive: many of them are either empty or contain posts without likes and comments, which makes them suspicious. All the messages have similar content: they claim that Adilbekov wrote libel», — the human rights activists explained. The Legal Media Centre closed comments for everyone except subscribers, after which the mass activity stopped immediately.
