The publisher and editor-in-chief of the independent newspaper Tuymaada, Alexander Yakovlev, has announced the shutdown of the media outlet. According to him, the Yakutsk Republican Printing House refused to renew the contract for the newspaper issue. The newspaper Tuymaada had been published since the mid-2000s. The newspaper published materials criticising regional authorities and investigating corruption schemes.
