Karelian activist and journalist Natalya Sevyets-Yermolina was placed under criminal investigation for publishing posts without indicating her status as a "foreign agent" (contravention of Article 330.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). Sevyets-Yermolina left Russia in 2022, and was added to the list of “foreign agents” in April 2023. The Ministry of Justice commented that she was “openly advocating in favour of Ukraine” and was propagating "negative attitudes regarding military service” Sevyets-Ermolina has been repeatedly fined for violating the law on “foreign agents".
