Journalist Maria Ponomarenko was sent to the punitive isolation centre of Barnaul SIZO-1. She was forbidden to talk about the reasons for her punishment. Last February, Ponomarenko was sentenced to six years in prison in the case of military «fakes» (Paragraph E of Part 2 of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) for her post about a Russian air strike on a drama theatre in Mariupol. She is also being tried under the article on attacking colony staff (Part 2 of Article 321 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). Ponomarenko spoke about ill-treatment and was on hunger strike.
