Journalists and bloggers were detained in Chuvashia at the rallies on January 23 and 31. On January 23, blogger Yury Shakeyev was taken to the police station. On February 12, the Leninsky District Court of Cheboksary considered a report for participation in an unauthorised rally against Shakeyev and assigned 30 hours of community service to the blogger.
