Additional information:
On April 30, a security guard of opposition deputy Levon Kocharyan (son of the second President of the Republic of Armenia Robert Kocharyan) got into a verbal altercation with the accredited correspondent of the pro-government news website Civic.am Davit Levonyan at the entrance to the parliament building and then hit him in the face, accusing him of blasphemy. As it turned out, the reason for the incident was the journalist’s material published on his YouTube channel, where he claimed that the leader of the Tavush Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Bishop Bagrat Galstanyan, serves Russian interests.
