In April, Vitkovsky’s flat was searched, which became known in early June. The police seized the journalist’s personal belongings and equipment without pressing any charges. He was asked questions about his personal attitude to the governor of the region. Later, according to Vitkovsky, he was suspected of promoting extremism on the grounds that the newspaper’s publications used materials from media outlets declared «foreign agents».
