Photographers Olha Kovalyova and Vladyslav Krasnoshchok worked with Ukrainian Armed Forces artillerymen to cover the war in Ukraine. The enemy struck back directly at the dugout where the journalists and the military were located. As a result, Olha Kovalyova received a shrapnel wound to the axilla, supraclavicular epicondyle and arm, as well as a fracture of the chest. Vladyslav Krasnoshchok was concussed. Kovalyova was first treated by the military and then evacuated to hospital. Kovalyova said that the military took her to the nearest field hospital, from there to a military hospital in Pokrovsk, then to a civilian hospital, where two of the three pieces of debris were removed. Now, she is in a hospital in Kharkiv, her condition is stable.
