The editor of special projects of Hrodna.life Iryna Novik was detained when she came to the district policeman’s office. An administrative process under Article 19.11 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Belarus was initiated against the journalist for publishing on her website a photo with the logo of a Telegram channel declared extremist. The police officers went to Iryna’s home and inspected the place. After that, the journalist was placed in a temporary detention centre until the trial. She was forbidden to sit in the detention centre from 6 AM to 10 PM, she had nothing to eat. On June 3, the Leninsky District Court of Hrodna declared Novik guilty of distributing information products containing calls to extremist activities and fined her 25 base amounts.
