Inmates of cell №15 in the detention center on Akrestsina, where journalist Iryna Slavnikava is held, went on hunger strike to protest against the abusive conditions of detention. The prisoners are deprived of the opportunity to receive parcels, and recently even toothbrushes and medicines, which they had inherited from those who had already been released, were confiscated from them. The reason, as one of the former cellmates said, was that «they asked the administration for toilet paper in the wrong tone of voice». The woman also said that there are 11 people in the double cell where Iryna is held. Among them, there is a homeless woman with pediculosis. «On November 3, there were four toothbrushes, three water bottles and about seven pads left in the cell for ten women». The detainees are not taken out for walks or showers, and the cell has bright lights on 24 hours a day.
