The journalist of European Radio for Belarus Artsyom Mayorau was arrested for 15 days. The judge of the Moskovsky District Court of Minsk declared him guilty of petty hooliganism (Article 19.1 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Belarus) on the basis of a police report. Mayorau was detained in the morning of May 18 in the building where the editorial office of the portal TUT.BY is located. On that day, law enforcers came to the office of the portal, the management of the editorial office and journalists were detained in the morning. The journalist was kept in the detention centre until the trial. According to Euroradio, the report said that the policeman noticed Mayorau and wanted to call him for a preventive conversation, but the journalist responded by swearing and waving his hands. The conditions in the detention center and serving administrative detention were torturous for Mayorau.
