On May 18, Fedorov was detained in his flat. He was sentenced to 13 days of arrest under the article on incitement to hatred or hostility (Article 20.3.1 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation) and 5 days of arrest under the article on disobedience to police demands (Part 1 of Article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation). At the same time, a criminal case was opened against him. After the activist served the administrative arrest, the court appointed him house arrest for a month as a preventive measure in the criminal case. Fedorov is accused of inciting hatred or enmity (Part 1 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) because of the video entitled «GHOULS ARE DESTROYING KUZBASS. THE TIME OF CHANGE IS NOW», posted on the blogger’s YouTube channel. In the video, he discusses regional problems and their causes. On July 4, 2021, the house arrest was extended.
