Isayev and his brother Saleh Magamadov, who were kidnapped in spring in Nizhny Novgorod and taken to Grozny, went on hunger strike after investigators refused to transfer the case to another region. The brothers were tortured in the Grozny pre-trial detention centre. Isayev and Magamadov face up to 16 years in prison under the article on illegal armed formation (Part 2 of Article 208 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) — they allegedly passed food to a militant.
