The Minsk City Court sentenced freelance photographer Aliaksandr Zyankou to three years of imprisonment in a general regime colony. Judge Zhanna Brysina declared the journalist guilty of participation in an «extremist formation» (Part 3 of Article 361-1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belrus). The charges were based on cooperation with an independent media outlet.
