The Centre for Combating Extremism of the Rostov Region put Reznik on the wanted list in a criminal case on justification of Nazism in connection with his publications in Telegram. The investigative journalist lives in exile. In 2013, he was sentenced to three years of jail in cases of insulting a representative of the authorities and false denunciation. He was released in 2016 with a two-year ban on professional activities.
