The Ulan-Ude-based journalist of People of Baikal Karina Pronina left Russia due to pressure from law enforcement agencies and threats in pro-government Telegram channels. The reason for her departure was the fact that a post about Pronina was published by a pro-government Telegram channel: her acquaintances suggested that a search might follow. Pronina was also summoned for a «conversation» by the Federal Security Service, interrogated after her return from abroad, and detained at the cemetery where dead military personnel are buried.
