Law enforcers searched the flat of blogger Sergey Veselov from Shuya, Ivanovo Region, and seized his laptop and phone. The search took place in a criminal case under the article on repeated discrediting of the army (Article 280.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), which was initiated on December 27, 2022, because of two YouTube videos. Veselov’s flat had already been searched in August and September 2022. In total, three criminal cases have been opened against Veselov. The first case contains three episodes: two — on repeated discrediting of the Russian Army (Part 1 of Article 280.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and one — on vandalism (Part 1 of Article 214 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). Initially, separate criminal cases were opened for each of these episodes, but later they were merged into a single proceeding.
