On December 23, the journalists of Radio Azattyq Manshuk Asautai and Bagdat Asylbek were not allowed by the police to the place of opening of the memorial to the victims of the January events with the participation of president Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, claiming lack of accreditation. The event was not announced and the issue of accreditation was not raised either.
