Tajik authorities have confirmed that a criminal case has been opened against journalist Rustami Joni, who lives in Prague. On March 24, the investigator of the Sino District Police Department of Dushanbe Abduhakim Shafiyev told Radio Ozodi that «Rustami Joni is wanted». Earlier, Rustami Joni’s wife Anora Sarkorova wrote on her Facebook page that her mother and brother were summoned to the Sino District Police Department on March 23. They were informed that a criminal case had been opened against Rustami Joni on charges of «organising the activities of an extremist organisation» (Part 4 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Tajikistan).
