On February 5, the Sabail District Court of Baku arresrted photoblogger Veli Shukurov for 30 days. He was found guilty under Articles 510 (petty hooliganism) and 535.1 (failure to obey the police) of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Azerbaijan. According to his wife, Shukurov was summoned to the police in the morning of February 4. Shukurov was detained for about an hour, then released. He told his wife that he had been questioned about a police officer. At about 9 PM, when Veli and his wife were returning home, he was detained. No information was given to the wife from the police about the reasons for the detention. Only at about 1 PM on February 5, lawyer Zibeyda Sadygova managed to find out that Shukurov was arrested for 30 days.
