On February 6, the journalist of the news agency TAFTISH Ulmas Tulayev was stabbed in the stomach in the Bukhara Region. The incident took place in a cafe in the Shofirkon District. A quarrel arose between the journalist and his acquaintance, causing the man to grab a knife and stab Tulayev. The victim was taken to hospital. The district prosecutor’s office opened a criminal case against the suspect under Articles 25 and 97 (attempted premeditated murder) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan. On February 7, he was taken into custody.
