The owner of the newspaper Uralskaya Nedelya, Journalistic Initiative LLP, was a defendant in a lawsuit about compensation for copyright infringement from the Russian company VK-Media Publishing Group LLC. The plaintiff claimed that in the publication «Five families in Uralsk may lose their land plots due to the actions of a fraudster» of November 10, 2021, Uralskaya Nedelya used a photo of a VK-Media employee. On May 5, the court dismissed the claims of the publishing group.
